We have a responsibility for our environment. We are committed to developing a better way of living that is sustainable and environmentally responsible. A broader view approach which ensures the longevity and health of our environmental, economic, and social well being.
Our planning and design processes are centered around evaluating and promoting environmental, economic, and social responsibilities. These planning and design initiatives are integral to design excellence as the foundation of successful and healthy communities.
We have found that the principles for livable communities are an excellent framework to organize a discussion. The principles consist of design on a human scale, providing choices, encouraging mixed-use development, preserving urban centers, varying transportation options, building vibrant public spaces, creating neighborhood identities, protecting environmental resources, conserving landscapes, and the principle that design matters.
